Taunton offers preschool classes to students between the ages of 3 and PreK at Edward J. Leddy Preschool. Students entering Kindergarten through 4th grade will attend one of the 6 Elementary schools. They are Joseph C. Chamberlain Elementary, Edmund Hatch Bennett Elementary, East Taunton Elementary, Harold H. Galligan Elementary, Elizabeth Pole Elementary, and James L. Mulcahey Elementary. All students in grades 5-7 attend John F. Parker school, Joseph H. Martin Middle School, or Benjamin A. Friedman Middle School. For Taunton students, High school starts in 8th grade and goes through 12th grade at either Taunton High School or Taunton Alternative High School. The city of Taunton is rich in history. Taunton is known for “Taunton Green,” which is home to several lively stores and restaurants.
